Every booking can mean starting the acquisition process all over again: the hotel pays to win the same kind of customer over and over.
So we asked ourselves: what if instead of building the relationship between the traveler and a hotel, we built the relationship between the traveler and a platform that can follow them to any city?
An AI travel concierge that helps the traveler before, during and after arriving in a city.
Roamie was born from a problem we saw for years working with hotels and tourism: a hotel can constantly invest in content, ads and influencers, but a traveler visits a city for a few days, goes home and probably won't need that same hotel for a long time. We built an AI travel concierge that follows the traveler to any city.
- Discovers places, experiences and events around the traveler.
- Answers questions 24/7 and helps plan the day.
- Books and connects guests with city experiences.
- Turns the hotel into an acquisition channel: where the traveler sleeps is also where the relationship starts.
One traveler. Many cities. One platform.
- 01
The traveler arrives at the hotel and gets Roamie as their digital concierge.
- 02
AI accompanies them through the trip: plans, bookings and what's happening around them.
- 03
When they travel to another city, they're still a user. The acquisition cost no longer belongs to a single booking.
We didn't want to build another chat where you type a question and get a generic answer. The idea is to build an intelligence layer around the trip.
Roamie combines AI with information from hotels, experiences, curated places, events and local recommendations to understand things like “I just arrived and want to do something tonight”, “I'm traveling solo and want to meet people” or “I only have four free hours”.
The technology sits behind the scenes, but the experience has to feel simple: Plan it. Book it. Go.
We started by understanding a marketing problem: acquiring travelers over and over is expensive and has little recurrence. But the solution didn't end up being another campaign. It ended up being a product.
We built a platform, an app, an AI concierge, tools for hotels, a recommendation system and a model that connects travelers, lodging and experiences. And we keep using marketing to feed the whole system: content, influencers, partnerships, hotels and digital acquisition.
Marketing doesn't always mean finding a better way to sell the product you have. Sometimes it means understanding the problem so well that you end up building a different product.
